I’m Emaly, the Athletics Counselor here at Barstow Community College. I’ve been at BCC for just over a year in this role. I love what I do; there is nothing more rewarding than seeing students succeed in both their academics and sport! Helping student athletes reach their goals is what I strive for.
I love sports and grew up playing them. I got really involved with athletics in college following my husband who was a D1 Baseball player. Because of him, I developed a passion for counseling and helping students in the extremely demanding and rigorous time of being a college athlete. I went on to finish my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UC Davis and my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Fresno State with hopes of one day becoming an Athletics Counselor. Now, my dream has come true at Barstow Community College.
I mainly work with continuing student athletes by developing their education plans and helping them get ready to graduate with their Associate’s Degree and transfer out to a 4-year institution. If you are a current athlete or a prospective player interested in Barstow Community College, I’m readily available to help you and you can reach me at my contact information below. I look forward to working with you on your journey at Barstow Community College. Go Vikings!
